Good & Super Organic Matcha Powder is grown in Japan, where the tea leaves are grown in shade for several weeks prior to harvest. Latte grade means that our matcha is made from high quality, first harvest leaves. The shading process during cultivation yields a vibrant green color and contributes to a higher nutrition content. Once harvested, the leaves are steamed, dried, de-veined & ground into a fine, smooth powder. A good indication of quality is the vibrant green color. Matcha that is bright green is indicated as higher quality while matcha that is yellowish or dull in color is to be considered lower quality. The shading process of Good & Super Organic Japanese Matcha Powder enhances the leaves' chlorophyll, a natural pigment found in plants and results in our beautiful bright green powder.
